Living Richly On The Cheap

Version 1.0 - Home Decor

- The shape of something is more important. Color can be changed. This allows you to have more options than you do in reality. Spray paint is $5 a can and you can get paint that will stick to all kinds of things (plastic, metal, wood, etc). A color makeover really gives something a new life.

- Harmony is important. The pieces in your room should all fit together, but not be the same. A room that looks balanced will look classier. Find a way to keep every day activities easily swept away or hidden. Curtains, baskets, and boxes are good.

- You don't need NEW things. The way you use something and the way it fits in with what you already have is more important. Keeping in mind that with a few little alterations anything can be useful or pretty, you can really get a lot from thrifted things, free things, or that which you already own.

- Keep things fresh. Reflect the current in everything. You won't get bored or feel dated which would make you want to go shop for new things! Try to think of innovative ways to use things.
